Drimoleague Methodist Church, West End, Drimoleague

Niamh Parsons is one of the most distinctive voices in Irish folk singing. She comes from the same tradition as Sandy Denny, June Tabor and our own Dolores Keane. Growing up in Dublin she revelled in the folk revival and ballad singing explosion of the early 1970s and was influenced by hearing the likes of Emmet Spiceland, The Johnstons, Dolly McMahon, Sweeney’s Men and Danny Doyle. An avid song collector, she will be sharing some of her best loved songs in this intimate concert in the Drimoleague Methodist Church accompanied by the wonderful guitar playing of long-time collaborator Graham Dunne.
