Paddy Tunney (1921-2002) was a giant of traditional singing, with Ewan McColl describing him as ‘The greatest lyrical singer in the English Language’.  With roots firmly in Fermanagh and Donegal, he was also a broadcaster, raconteur, songwriter and lilter. His book The Stone Fiddle: My Way to Traditional Song is still one of the definitive books on the song tradition in Ireland. Our singer-in-residence Lisa Lambe pays tribute as she chats with his sons and daughters about his life. There’s nothing quite like hearing a family singing together, so come along and listen as they share songs and stories of their father, in what’s sure to be a very special event.
